Publications by region

The NATO Strategic Direction-South HUB reports cover an area of interest ranging from North Africa, the Sahel, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, as well as adjacent areas, water and airspace. These reports are developed with open-source information, often in collaboration with local and regional organisations and experts, to generate better mutual understanding of some of the region's challenges.

Africa

The African continent is home to over 50 countries. The NSD-S Hub's AOI includes North Africa, the Sahel and Sub-Saharan Africa and adjacent areas.


Middle East

Our area of interest covers the Middle East, including the adjacent maritime areas of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf.


Cross-Regional

This covers cross-cutting topics, research and activities across Africa and the Middle East.
