NSD-S HUB JOINS PACE-PAM JOINT CONFERENCE

Council of Europe, Strasbourg 10-11 Oct 2019: "There is no type of criminal activity today without involving electronic evidence at one stage or the other. Terrorism is no exception" This approach was at the basis of the Joint Conference between the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) to which the NSD-S HUB (HUB) was invited to attend and contribute.

According to Ms. Carole Probst of the HUB: "There was a great deal to be taken away from this conference that will contribute to the HUB's wider understanding of emerging and imminent threats and the need for comprehensive approaches to tackling shared challenges. When trying to understand and track the international and joined-up nature of terrorism, we should not lose sight of the fact that it takes a corresponding criminal justice response at both domestic and international levels to combat it. It was also satisfying to see the keen interest in related HUB products shown by attendees at this event."

The conference included reporting on the joint European Union / Council of Europe Cybersouth project which aims at building cooperation against cybercrime with priority given to Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia.
