NSD-S HUB ATTENDS ECOWARN SYSTEM EVALUATION WORKSHOP

The Hub was delighted to accept the invitation from Ms. Finda KOROMA, Vice President of ECOWAS Commission to take part in a workshop about the ECOWARN SYSTEM, organised by ECOWAS, in Abuja, Nigeria, from 14-15 October, 2019.

This highly significant conference was held to present the ECOWARN Data Model, the objectives being: to create awareness of the ECOWARN System, and discuss sustainability and enhancement of the Early Warning System in the mid to long term; to present other similar systems; to discuss how best to transform the volume of data into meaningful information for analysis and early warning. Participation at the event offered the Hub delegation the opportunity to learn much about the warning systems, as well as to make new contacts and to further explain the work the Hub is doing in the region. During the many positive and informative discussions which took place, it was agreed by all present that continued collaboration will be very beneficial.
